Costing between $16,000 per person for the cheapest cabins and $63,000 per person for the most expensive suites, cruising around the world has become a popular vacation getaway designed especially or people who have months on end to travel. The most popular cruise is the 114-day Grand World Voyage operated by Holland America Line aboard the ms Amsterdam. The four-month itinerary takes passengers throughout the world on one of the most posh ships floating on the seven seas. These types of cruises are also offered by several other luxury cruise lines and typically replace long stays in vacation homes that many tourists enjoy.
Because there is so much time at sea, the cruise features some unique ports and sights that no other cruises currently stop at. This, alone, is a very attractive feature for people looking to experience some rare stops. The grand voyage begins in Fort Lauderdale and transits the Panama Canal before heading down the west coast of South America and around the cape to Buenos Aires. After a stop in Argentina, the cruise continues across the South Atlantic to arrive in South Africa’s Cape Town and then sailing up to India and Singapore. The Asian portion of the tour includes Hong Kong and Osaka, Japan. The cruise then concludes by transiting the North Pacific to Vancouver and then south to Los Angeles.
